Aliki Braine's 8 Months of the Year works on loan to Ashmolean Museum, Oxford

June 2025

We are delighted to share, in a significant recognition of Aliki Braine’s work, two pieces from the artist’s body of ‘flower works’ will be temporarily lent the Ashmolean Museum, Oxford. They will be on display in the Daisy Linda Ward Still Life Gallery from 11 June 2025 to August 2026, where they will sit in dialogue with historic still-life paintings. This marks an important acknowledgement of Aliki’s distinctive contribution to the tradition—reframing the legacy of Western still life through a bold and contemporary photographic lens.

In October this year, Aliki Braine will be in conversation with An Van Camp, the Christopher Brown Curator of Northern European Art, about the works which have inspired Aliki’s practice in the Ashmolean’s collection. The talk will take place in the Daisy Linda Ward Gallery at the Ashmolean as part of Photo Oxford Festival. (Save the Date - Event: 2pm, Saturday 25 October 2025. Booking will be available soon)

Our forthcoming exhibition featuring new works by Aliki will take place in Oxford as part of Photo Oxford Festival in October and will be announced soon.
